JOSH (Johannesburg Organisation of Services to the Homeless NPC) was established in 2013 by Ms Mary Gillett-de Klerk, a social entrepreneur with social work qualifications and many years of experience, who has recently successfully completed the SECP (Social Entrepreneurship Certificate Programme) at GIBS (Gordon Institute of Business Science).

The registration as an NPO (Non-Profit Organisation) and a Section 18A organisation will in due course be sought in order to access further benefits.

The vision of JOSH is to create a sustainable, innovative solution to address the problem of homelessness in Johannesburg. JOSH is both creating and leading change in Johannesburg.

The Randburg Chamber of Commerce has adopted JOSH as a social support member, and the Deputy President of the Chamber, Mr Willie van der Schyf, is a member of the JOSH Board of Directors.
