Eskom has rolled out smart split metering as part of its infrastructure upgrade programme for all households in Sandton and Midrand.
The new meters have been installed in large part of the area thus far. In order for customers to enjoy the benefits of new smart split meter, they need to receive Customer Interface Unit (CIU) once the meter is installed in their respective houses. The CIU will be paired to the meter in the household. This is a device used to view meter readings or punch in the token as well as to display the remaining credit and other meter details.
Signing of contracts is one of the other requirements before conversion to prepaid. Customers are requested to please visit our Customer Service Hub in Rivonia (21 Autumn street) to collect the CIU and sign the contract. They are required to bring the latest Eskom account statement and ID.
The hub will be opened on Saturdays (09:00 – 14:00) for the duration of the programme.
