For the economy to bounce back from the COVID-19 shock, South Africa should deepen its manufacturing capacity to ensure greater economic independence.
“For the new economy to be a reality, we expect Government, working with all social partners to:
- Fast track an agile PPP framework for infrastructure Development;
- Create a more competitive investment environment to incentivise the private sector;
- Provide greater support for SMEs through market democratization; and
- Improve state capacity to serve as an enabler for the business community, both at sector level and national economy level.”
