The Johannesburg Tourism Company is pleased to announce that Thandubuhle Mgudlwa has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 October 2023.
Mgudlwa’s experience includes areas such as strategy, research, policy, development, planning, investments, commercialization, business tourism, sector modelling, destination management and marketing in relation to tourism.
A significant amount of his time is spent on re-modelling and turning around the tourism sector in Johannesburg to stimulate growth and achieve competitiveness.
He formerly held the position of Executive Head responsible for Tourism Strategic Services in the Johannesburg Tourism Company and also served as a Director for Tourism in the City of Johannesburg.

Mgudlwa holds a BComm Honours degree in Tourism Management from the Nelson Mandela University, a BTech in Tourism Management from the University of Johannesburg and has completed a Senior Leadership Development Programme through the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School Of Business.
