Dear Clients, Colleagues and Supporters,
Some time has passed since we last sent out communication regarding the status of the Global Trade Show of Networking & Matchmaking South Africa 2020 (GTS 2020), and we do hope that you and your loved ones have remained safe and healthy during this period.
At the time when President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the measures for a national lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the GTS organisers’ immediate response was to postpone GTS 2020 to 6 – 8 October this year. Although there were a number of uncertainties surrounding the future landscape and how business and the events industry would be affected, no one could have foreseen the impact of this pandemic on our nation as well as the globe at the time. It was our hope that we would be in a position to deliver an uncompromised GTS 2020 by October this year.
It is however, still unclear on what level of opening the country will be by October and although frustrating, we remain supportive of the government’s endeavours to ensure the safety of our citizens. This uncertainty has placed us in the unenviable position of having to defer GTS 2020 to a future date in 2021, but the health and well-being of our valued exhibitors, visitors, supporters, speakers, teams and delegates is sacrosanct.
We remain optimistic about what lies ahead and are working towards finalising the revised dates for GTS 2021. These will be communicated to you in due course.
