The CSIR is conducting research about recycling in Johannesburg, on behalf of Pikitup, a waste management entity of the City of Johannesburg Municipality.
As part of this research, we will be conducting questionnaires and interviews with businesses operating in the City. The aim is to assess the extent to which businesses currently recycle their waste, to understand the reasons for not recycling, and to identify potential options for encouraging increased recycling.
All businesses operating within the City of Johannesburg are invited to participate in an online survey, using the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Business-Recycling-Survey
If you are willing to assist, kindly distribute this link to as many businesses in your network as possible. If possible, please cc’ myself, [email protected], when distributing the link.
The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. All information provided will be anonymous and treated as strictly confidential.
If there are any questions concerning the study, or if businesses would like to participate in an interview, they are welcome to contact myself (details below); or either of the following:
- Sibusiso Komane, GM: Research & Strategy (Waste Minimization Strategy & Programmes Department), Pikitup ([email protected] / 071 360 1088)
- Suzan Oelofse, Research Group Leader: Waste for Development, CSIR ([email protected] / 012 841 4333)
Many thanks, your assistance in this research will go a long way towards improving recycling in Johannesburg!
