09/06/2017: City of Johannesburg continues the fight against charged officials
During a meeting of Council held Thursday, 08 June 2017, after considering a report prepared by an independent investigator, Council resolved to initiate disciplinary processes against two senior managers whom it had previously suspended.
Council also resolved to investigate allegations of misconduct against another senior manager and to initiate suspension processes.
The City’s governing coalition remains resolute in its determination to stamp out all maladministration and irregularity in the manner in which the affairs of the City are conducted.
I would like to express my appreciation for the manner in which our coalition partners and the EFF continue to work with us on these matters of principle in order to create the fair, well administered, responsive and caring City we would all like to see.
The imperatives of improving service delivery, combatting corruption and creating jobs in our City demand that common ground be found in order to build co-operation which furthers the best interests of our residents.
We remain committed to putting our residents first and rooting out corruption which has crippled the City and created an obstacle to realizing a better life for all our residents.
Cllr Herman Mashaba
Executive Mayor
