MOSCOW INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL AND TOURISM (MITT) EXHIBITION
13 – 15 MARCH 2018, MOSCOW, RUSSIA

The Department of Tourism, through the International Market Access Support Programme (IMASP), invites eligible tourism enterprises to apply and participate in the Moscow International Travel and Tourism (MITT) Exhibition in Moscow, Russia from 13 – 15 March 2018.

MITT is Russia’s largest and longest running travel exhibition held annually. It is also one of the top five travel exhibitions in the world and is highly valued by the international tourism community. With over 1,800 participating companies and 192+ destinations, it is the key meeting place for the industry and an opportunity to meet potential clients; expand cooperation with existing partners; compare offers from a large number of companies; enquire about new tourist destinations, products and services and gather the necessary materials, catalogues and contacts for future business. In addition, it enables participants to increase awareness of their destination, gain a real feel for the Russian travel market and gauge demand for their services.

With Russia being amongst the Asian emerging markets and a member of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS), the MITT exhibition was added on the Tourism Incentive Programme (TIP) to support a limited number of enterprises to participate in the event. Particular focus will be placed on assisting small and medium size tourism enterprises offering tour operator services, accommodation etc. with some experience in travel
packaging, negotiating and selling relevant tourism packages to international buyers.

In line with the programme guidelines, reimbursement of costs incurred will be based on the following capped amounts:

  • Accommodation – R2 853.42, per person per night, linked to the duration of the exhibition;
  • Flight – R20 888.62, based on an economy class return flight; and
  • Participation/exhibition fees for approved enterprises will be paid by the Department directly to the exhibition organiser.

All applications received will be acknowledged and qualifying applicants will be notified upon approval and required to sign a contract with the Department. Please note that any costs incurred prior to approval will be at an applicant’s own risk.

Please also note that if you have been approved three times and have participated in all three events, you should not submit your application as it will not be considered as per the IMASP Guidelines.
