Consumer Price Inflation February 2012 |
- Inflation slowed unexpectedly to 6.1% year-on-year (y/y) in February from 6.3% in January
- Month-on-month (m/m) inflation remained unchanged at 0.6%.
The headline CPI (for all urban areas) annual inflation rate in February 2012 was 6.1%. This rate was 0.2 of a percentage point lower than the corresponding annual rate of 6.3% in January 2012. On average, prices increased by 0.6% between January 2012 and February 2012.

Discussions on the National Development Plan |

SACCI attended a meeting between a broad segment of the South African business community and Commissioners from the National Planning Commission (NPC) to discuss the recently published National Development Plan (NDP) on 29 February 2012 at the BUSA offices in Johannesburg, Sandton.
The Delegation from the NPC was led by Mr Kuben Naidoo from the Office of the Presidency. The Commissioners included Mr Elias Masilela, CEO of the Public Investment Corporation and Mr Trueman Thandabantu Goba, Executive Chairman of Goba (Pty) Ltd: Consulting Engineers and Project Managers.
